All you need to create an epic vegetarian pizza feast at your next party is tasty pizza dough and some awesome pizza sauce (tomato paste, garlic, onion, and some dried Italian herbs will do the trick!) for the base, as well as your favorite cheeses to hold everything together. And of course, you need some killer topping combinations that keeps things healthy yet tickles the taste buds of your guests. Try one or more of these impressive options:
This take on the Hawaiian pizza features protein-rich tofu along with pineapple, olives, mushrooms, bell peppers, and some fresh baby spinach leaves. Consider sprinkling it all with some freshly minced garlic for good measure.
This delight should be made with freshly minced chipotle peppers if possible. Otherwise, a teaspoon of chipotle powder will do the trick. Sprinkle the pizza with the peppers and top with corn kernels, ranch dressing, and sliced portabella mushrooms that has been marinated in soy sauce for at least 15 minutes.
The star of this pizza pie is thinly sliced eggplant that has been breaded and lightly fried in a pan until golden brown. The eggplant should be laid on the pizza before the cheese for a true eggplant parmesan mouth-feel. Red pepper flakes add just the right amount of spice to make this pie stand out.
Each bite of this pizza is like eating an open-faced buffalo wing sandwich. Small cauliflower pieces should be marinated in your favorite buffalo sauce for a couple of hours and then baked ahead of time until they get crunchy. Try topping the pie with bleu cheese dressing instead of traditional pizza cheese.
Who doesn't love a good barbecue sauce? Make a pulled "pork" barbecue pizza by mixing canned jackfruit and barbecue sauce together and pulling the jackfruit slightly apart with your fingers until you get the texture of pulled pork. Top the pizza with the jackfruit, and add some grilled peppers and onions to the mix.
Black and Green Machine
Keep things super healthy by halving the cheese on your pizza and topping it with shredded kale or chard and plenty of black olives. Red and yellow bell peppers really brighten this pizza up.
